The mission of The Academy of D/s Confidence is to provide multi-media education and support to people of all genders, orientations, backgrounds, and relationship configurations, who are exploring intentional consensual power dynamics and authority exchange relationships.
The ADsC uses spiritual practices, social justice activism, relationship skill-building, and BDSM and leather culture to support and inspire dominants, submissives, and switches.
More about The ADsC
The Academy of D/s Confidence started in 2015 by Sinclair Sexsmith and rife as a response to increased demand for education around consensual, intentional power and authority exchange relationships. There is so much misinformation about power dynamics, so much conflation of power dynamics with psychological damage and abuse, and The ADsC seeks to combat those stereotypes and to provide resources and alternative models to maintain healthy, supportive dynamics. There are not enough power discussions that include social justice frameworks, and The ADsC seeks to approach power dynamics from an intersectional place, taking into account privilege, marginalization, and social power dynamics for many different regions of social structures—race, class, gender, sexual orientation, beauty, religion, background, immigration status, size, profession, and many other factors that influence our relationships. In addition to social structures of power, The ADsC seeks to improve individual’s internal, personal sense of powerfulness and empowerment through relationship, self-awareness, and communication skills.
The goal of The ADsC is to educate and inspire more conscious creation and maintenance of consensual D/s power dynamics, and to provide many myriad examples so you can take on what’s best for you and your dynamic, deconstruct stereotypes, and have more confidence in your relationships and identities.
